Identity Theft is a serious criminal business. According to the Federal Trade Commission, "...as many as 9 million Americans have their identities stolen each year. In fact, you or someone you know may have experienced some form of identity theft."
Current predictions for the 2011 Hurricane Season:
- 12 to 18 named storms, 6 - 10 of which will be hurricanes
- 3 to 6 of those hurricanes will be major, category 3 or higher
Now is the time to plan for tropical storms and hurricanes if you haven't already. Check your hurricane supplies, especially batteries, to make sure everything is fresh and ready. Make sure you have a full set of prescription medicines if you need them. If you have pets, plan for them as well.
The Tampa Police Department would like to remind citizens of these Crime Prevention tips during the holiday season.
