Last night we held our July eating meeting. The main course was chicken marsala and vegetarian lasagne from Reservations To Go.  Ever since they moved into the area our eating meetings have gotten tastier.  There were over 70 people in attendance and folks were enjoying themselves.  The pot luck was quite a spread of good food too.  Several new members joined that very evening--perhaps due to the incredible cooking.

Physicals & Immunizations

        Tampa, Fla. – (July 19, 2010) – Hillsborough County Public Schools and the Back to School Coalition of Hillsborough County is hosting opportunities for free physicals and immunizations on upcoming Saturdays.

OSHNA's Information & Outreach committee has been conducting a survey for a few months now.  The purpose of this survey is to guide the Board of Director's decisions in the coming years to be more in line with what the neighborhood wants.  This will take the form of a strategic plan which will drive budgets, fundraising, and other activities.

The comments have been especially informative.  Everyone who took the time to complete the survey is thanked, and especially those that took extra time to fill out personal comments.  Your efforts will not be wasted.

Hurricane Season officially started this week.  Tampa usually doesn't get any major storms until late Summer but you should be planning for them now.   Create an evacuation kit in advance and place it somewhere easy to get to.  Stock your pantry with foods that can last without refrigeration.  Even if you do not need to evacuate, you may still find yourself without power for days or longer.  Consider that ATMs and credit card readers may not function during power outages.

OSHNA is looking for members to volunteer an hour or two this coming Sunday to help staff our booth at the Seminole Heights Sunday Market.  If you are interested in spending time with other OSHNA members at this wonderful event, just let us know.
