Soccer Event Raises Fun and Funds

On August 28th, OSHNA in conjunction with the Old Seminole Heights Preservation Consortium (OSHPC) held an event at Henry & Ola park to raise funds for replacing the degraded soccer goal posts in the park.  

 

Eddie Oyakhilome of the EJJE Foundation conducted a free soccer clinic with the help of the University of Tampa Women's soccer team.   Volunteers staffed a BBQ grill with hamburgers and hotdogs and healthy drinks and snacks for the children.  About 40 kids in all showed up to enjoy the morning clinic.

        Tampa, Fla. – (July 19, 2010) – Hillsborough County Public Schools and the Back to School Coalition of Hillsborough County is hosting opportunities for free physicals and immunizations on upcoming Saturdays.

Patterson Park Picnic was a blast!

The Patterson park playground dedication picnic couldn't have happened on a nicer day.  Thanks to the hard work of OSHNA's playgroup committee, Old Seminole Heights has a new children's playground at Patterson park.  The mom's got together and organized a great picnic to celebrate.  

This was a kid-centric event and nearly half the attendees were knee-high to a grasshopper.  Also being celebrated that same day, the new OSHNA Springs Restoration Project got its kick-off.  Did you know there's a natural spring right there in Patterson park?

 

The Learning Center has a few openings

The Learning Center is now accepting registrations for 3 & 4 year olds.  There are only a few openings left to get free VPK for children who are 4 years old by September 1, 2009.
