VM Ybor Home Tour this Weekend!
On Sunday, October 16th from 11am - 5pm, the VM Ybor Neighborhood Association will host its Third Annual Home Tour. VM Ybor is located just north of Ybor City and has held an important place in local history. Home to over 3,000 residents, the neighborhood is within walking / biking distance to Ybor City and downtown Tampa.

Who was Captain Jackson? This was the most frequently asked question by those who visited the Jackson house during this year's annual home tour; however, the question should probably be where did he come from?
Levi and Nancy Dixon Coller, the grandparents of Captain Jackson, were the first Anglo-American family to settle in the Tampa Wilderness. Their first born, Mary Josephine, born in 1837, was the first Anglo-American child born in Hillsborough County.

VM Ybor is located just north of Ybor City and has held an important place in Ybor and East Tampa history since its inception. Home to over 3,000 residents, the neighborhood is rich in history and within walking distance to Ybor City and downtown Tampa. This is “not so typical” home tour featuring our eclectic, diverse and historic community. 8 houses and the historic, award winning Cuscaden Pool to be featured. While many homes have been restored or remodeled, they all still contain original elements that characterize our unique community.
Seminole Heights: Best Place in Florida to Buy an Old House
This Old House magazine picked Old Seminole Heights as one of the 50 "Best Place to Buy an Old House" in the United States. One neighborhood per state was selected and our very own neighborhood was selected for the state of Florida. Neighborhoods were selected based on architectural diversity, craftsmanship, preservation momentum, walkability, services, and community.
