Come Join Us for a Swift Night Out

Friday, August 7th, 7:30 - 8:30 PM

Chimney Swifts 1

What: Chimney Swifts are Neotropical Migratory Birds who nest in North America and spend winter in the Amazon Basin of Peru. Their numbers are dwindling due to a loss of habitat. Come help us count Chimney Swifts at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 5103 N. Central Avenue (across from Hillsborough High School).

We will provide the data collected to groups dedicated to helping swifts. Tampa Audubon Society will also be there to assist and teach about this wonderful bird.

When: Friday, August 7th 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Dusk starts at 8:15, so please try to arrive prior to 7:30 pm.

Where: St. Paul Lutheran Church, 5103 N Central Avenue.

A "flying cigar," the Chimney Swift is rarely seen perched. Its high-pitched twittering is a familiar sound during summertime in the city as it flies high above, catching small flying insects.
