Armstrong Development, the company contracted by CVS to build on the lot, has sent a letter to OSHNA's membership and asked that we publish it.
CVS will be going for a variance on April 15th for a 2-APS (beer/wine package liquor sale) under file number V09-378.
Dear Members of OSHNA,
On behalf of CVS and Armstrong Development I wanted to say thanks for all the emails and phone calls from many of you expressing your support for our CVS project in Seminole Heights. We want all the residents to know and understand that we want to be part of your community and neighborhood.
When this journey began we were worlds apart on the layout of the site and building, but thru open communication we were able to learn what each side needed to have a win-win project for Seminole Heights and CVS. As you know, the best site plan we could come up with that met both of our needs was not approved by City Council on 1-28-2010, but due to the over-whelming support and interest in this development we have decided to make another effort to re-develop this corner and to bring new and much needed commercial development to this important corridor of Seminole heights.
We have officially submitted a new site plan to the City of Tampa under the current zoning for the property which is CI (Commercial Intensive). This site plan is not exactly like the plan that was previously denied by City Council, but we have figured out a way to make it work and at the same time we were able to save every "non-hazardous" tree on the parcel. this will preserve one the most significant characteristics that has come to symbolize Seminole Heights as a community.
I look forward to meeting with each of you at one of the up-coming meetings to share our visioon for what we feel will be one the most successful projects in Tampa.
Respectfully Submitted,
Greg Webb
