Included below is an email from Major Newman, District 2 TPD.

When more information becomes available about this crime, I will post it here.  If you hear anything or find more information, please post it in a reply.

All:
we are actively working this crime and appreciate if you could get this message out to all of your members.  You will see an increased presence of my officers in this area.  We have been and will continue as a precaution to check the sexual predators/offenders in this area  and be mindful of our young folks going to and from school.

As we speak, this case is evolving and as soon as I get any follow-ups I can share, I will let you know.  In light of our common experience with the Frye case from last summer, I know I can count on all of you to get this word out and call us if you see any unusual persons or activity.

Assistant Chief Bennett and I have been dialed into this since the case went out early this morning.  Our main goal is to successfully close this case and keep you and your neighborhood safe.  I know you all appreciate our passion we both have to your well being, and we appreciate the trust you have in us.  So as I get any update, I will pass it on

I received this email today from Major Newman:

Our Major Crimes Bureau is working diligently on the sexual battery investigation from the other night.  Major Wolff has kept me appraised of the case frequently and until I get direction otherwise, you will continue to see an increased amount of police vehicles in your neighborhood.  I drove through the area several times last night, early this morning and this afternoon as did Assistant Chief Bennett.  We saw first hand the deployment of our plain clothes and uniform officers.  As frustrating as it may be, the leads and progress in the case can not be disclosed.  The best course of action is to be attentive to activity in your area, secure your homes, and utilize common sense practices like outdoor lighting and calling the police!

When I get any information that I can share about the case I will quickly do so, even during the holiday weekend. Your safety and well being is our main concern.  As soon as I can also give you piece of mind, I will do that as well.

Regards,
john n
