Hi! We were told by our insurance company that we have to have hand rails installed on the 3 steps leading up to our porch. We definitely want to do something in keeping with the character of our home and the neighborhood - does anyone have suggestions for a company or contractor? Has anyone else had to do this?
You probably have Citizen's insurance and they are pulling everything they can to drop people. I'd have them show you the Florida building code that requires a handrail. You'll notice that most of our homes do not have handrails on the front. Back porches might, but ask them for the code first.
