The email below was sent by my neighborhood watch coordinator. Criminals do not stay in one area and certainly do not recognize arbitrary boundaries. If you see anyone out of the usual looking into your neighbor's windows, please call the police.
Some of the break-ins were due to unlocked doors or windows, especially in the rear of the home. Items taken include jewelry, gameing consoles, and laptops/personal computers. Be sure to record the serial numbers on all of your electronics. Photograph any unusual and valuable items you own like jewelry, antique coins, etc. Store these records in a safe place.
Yesterday afternoon, a young, Caucasian male, approximately 17 years of age, was seen by a neighbor peeking in windows of homes in the 1000 block of E. Idlewild Ave. This individual was later seen riding a BMX style bike on 9th street.
TPD was immediately contacted and they were not able to apprehend him but they have confirmed his identity. This individual is suspected by TPD of being involved in burglaries of approx. 10 homes in the area.
If you see anyone matching this description, please contact TPD at 231-6130. If you see him trespassing or engaged in criminal activity, please call 911 immediately.

Hello,
My home was broken into on Monday, 3-29-10 On Caracas Street, not too far from Ella's. They got away with our PS3, gold jewelry, specifically two items with the name "Jeanette" on them, and a sony camcorder. We believe it was two guys, most likely on bikes. If you remember seeing anything that day, please contact me. I want justice! My children are scared to sleep in their own room now.

I am not quite sure how people are raising their kids now a days but it sure seems like they are not keeping an eye on them. In the last couple of weeks there have been numerous break-ins by these teenagers and it has become increasingly frustrating. They seem to know all the ways to allude getting caught and are really hitting our neighborhood hard. My place was broken into a few weeks back and despite 2 witnesses we are no closer in finding the culprits than we were when it happened. The police have been monitoring the neighborhood and have been wonderful but how do theses kids parents not notice or care about all the goods that their kids are bringing home. I am a single mother of a small child and the recent break in has been hard to over come. Please we need EVERYONE to watch out and report ANY suspicious activity when it occurs and not look the other way in hopes that this stops and our neighborhood can be at peace again.
