Church Organist to Be Honored
The First Presbyterian Church in Downtown Tampa will showcase the extraordinary talents of Margaret McAlister who has been the Church’s organist since 1947, with the “Margaret McAlister’s Retirement Organ and Choir Concert.”
The event will take place on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
Mrs. McAlister will retire after 65 years of service at First Presbyterian. A native of Tampa and graduate of both Hillsborough High School and Florida State College for Women, her extraordinary talents led her to post-graduate work at the Juilliard School of Music. Mrs. McAlister was also a member of the music faculty of the University of Tampa and Clearwater Christian College, and served as the music department accompanist at HCC’s Ybor Campus for 25 years.
Mrs McAlister is a long-time OSHNA member and we congratulate her on her professional achievements.
