On December 17th, OSHNA received a letter from the East Tampa Community Revitalization Partnership. The letter said in part:
"In conjunction with the East Tampa Community Revitalization Partnership (ETCRP) and our holiday celebration, donations from CH2M HILL and Quality Inn & Suites East Tampa Ventures, LLC has provided one bicycle and a gift certificate for every neighborhood association in the East Tampa community. "
The OSHNA board of directors solicited suggestions for names from our committee chairs and several social service organizations within our boundaries. Akiva was nominated by the Center for Girls and was selected by the board to receive the bicycle and gift card.
OSHNA presented the bike to Akiva at the Centre for Girls on the 23rd of December.
In addition to those gifts provided by the East Tampa Community Revitalization Partnership, OSHNA's board chipped in and gave Akiva a safety helmet and pink bicycle lock. President Jeff Harmon delivered the helmet and lock on Christmas Eve.
