The Patterson park playground dedication picnic couldn't have happened on a nicer day. Thanks to the hard work of OSHNA's playgroup committee, Old Seminole Heights has a new children's playground at Patterson park. The mom's got together and organized a great picnic to celebrate.
This was a kid-centric event and nearly half the attendees were knee-high to a grasshopper. Also being celebrated that same day, the new OSHNA Springs Restoration Project got its kick-off. Did you know there's a natural spring right there in Patterson park?

Isabella Marchese received the OSHNA Good Neighbor award for her efforts to raise awareness of our local springs. Isabella wrote a letter to the Mayor regarding the plight of local springs. More about this in the coming Advisor newsletter.
The mom's organized games for the kids who could be tempted away from the new playground equipment. Hot dogs and hamburgers were on OSHNA and everyone brough a dish to share as well.

Myron Griffin, Greenspace committee chair, was there to gain support for a sidewalk trail that would start in SE Seminole Heights on 12th street and run all the way up to Patterson park and the Hillsborough River. It would connect Giddens park, Lake Roberta, Macdugal park, and Patterson park all together. Future legs ofthe trail would cross over I-275 and connect Epps park, the Garden Center, Henry and Ola park, the linear park along Hillsborough blvd, and Rivercrest park in South Seminole Heights.
Myron says his goal is to make Seminole Heights the premier neighborhood for biking and walking in the Bay area. If you are interested in this, contact Myron and let him know. The more help the better.
