Call to Action: Send an Email to FDOT Citizens Advisory Committee Before Its August 27th Meeting While the Downtown Interchange Operational Improvement plan continues, FDOT has forgotten its promises to add improvements to the neighborhoods that will be affected by the construction. For more information on this plan, watch this video made by OSHNA Highways and Byways Committee Member Mauricio Rosas. Please take a moment to copy, paste, and email this message to the Citizens Advisory Committee ( clarendonr@plancom.org and wongj@plancom.org ) before its Friday meeting. Dear Citizens Advisory Committee, Please add to the CAC agenda FDOT's many promises made to community members in its 2019 alternative public workshop regarding areas impacted by the new targeted construction from 15th Street to Hillsborough Avenue. The presentation included everything from reconnecting certain streets, sound walls, bike trails, and artful treatments at overpasses. Somehow these issues have been overlooked during recent discussions related to the Downtown Interchange Operational Improvements. The CAC should add the following recommendations: Reconnect Robles Park at Emily and Adalee.  Build a walk/bike pass at Plymouth Street and 26th Avenue. Create a greenway on the west side parallel to I-275.  Rebuild the 14th Street bridge. Fund additional buses for Florida Avenue and Nebraska Avenue to ease the traffic impact from the construction. Create a greenway along Taliaferro Road. Create a greenway along 14th Avenue parallel to I-4. Repave and enhance Chelsea Avenue damage from previous construction. Tampa's Wastewater Treatment PURE Plan Video and Additional Information

I f you missed the July 27th OSHNA general meeting that included the Tampa Water Department's PURE proposal presentation and OSH's role in the plan to treat wastewater and inject it back into the aquifer, watch a replay and see links connected to both the city's proposal and citizen concerns.

OSHNA Board Elections Do you want to get more involved with OSHNA or know someone who might be a perfect fit for the Board? Nominations for four Board positions are open from now until August 31, 2021. Nominees need to have been OSHNA members for at least one year. Email  elections@oldseminoleheights.org   to nominate someone. In order to vote in the election, you must be an OSHNA member in good standing as of September 30, 2021. Elections will be held at our October Quarterly Meeting.

September Happy Hour

Our first happy hour of 2020 at Southern Brewing and Winery on August 19th was a success! Thanks to everyone who came out to have a drink and eat some tacos with us. We enjoyed meeting new members and catching up with those who've been a part of the neighborhood for years. Our next happy hour is Wednesday, September 22nd, 6-8 p.m. at c.1949, 6905 N Orleans Ave . We'll be outside under the big patio—come join us!
