Accessory Dwelling Unit Workshop Tuesday, February 23rd
Have you considered adding a backyard cottage, in-law suite, or garage apartment—known in developer lingo as an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU)—to your property but don't know where to begin? Old Seminole Heights resident, architect, and owner of (allegedly) design Patrick Thorpe and City of Tampa Zoning Supervisor Eric Cotton will be holding a free Zoom workshop on ADUs and the basics of the Seminole Heights zoning code on February 23rd at 6:30 p.m.

The goal of the workshop is to help residents understand how the process works and to improve ADU applications submitted to the City of Tampa. The workshop will be about one hour and include a slide presentation, discussion of typical issues found in applications, and Q&A session.

Whether you are just considering the option or have already put some work into getting started, we encourage you to join this workshop to learn more!

Old Seminole Heights Historic Buildings Win County Grants
Both Seminole Heights United Methodist Church and the commercial buildings across Central Avenue that house Health Mutt, Valhalla Resale, Vintage on Central, and Glen's Hair Studio recently won Hillsborough County Historic Preservation Challenge Grants.

The commercial buildings' grant will go toward replacing the buildings' roofs, and the church's grant will go toward window restoration and the cleaning, preservation, restoration, and refinishing of exterior building components. Congratulations to both—we look forward to watching the continuing improvements along Central Avenue!

You can read more about the grants here .
