Tampa City Council has once again secured funding for making HART Route 1 even more useful for Seminole Heights residents, as starting this coming January frequency will be substantially increased on evenings and weekends, making it the perfect way to get downtown, to Water Street, or to Ybor City — and back!
Not only will the current 15-minute frequency continue on weekdays 6am to 6pm, the frequency is increased to 20 minutes on weekdays 6-9pm and on weekends 6am-9pm.
The route will no longer be free, but will remain at its current $2.00 fare (with a daily max of $4.00) — all buses can now accept fares via credit card, Apple Pay, and so on.
The Route 1 pilot project has been an incredible success — more people now ride HART Route 1 than the TECO Streetcar — and we look forward to another year of it being such a terrific resource for everyone from USF to downtown.
